Saw "Million Dollar Baby" today
What a great movie. Every oscar for that was well deserved.

1. I disagree.
I thought that both Ray and Hotel Rwanda were better movies with better performances. Well, Clint Eastwood was really good, but I think the others were both better films.

3. I agree, and I'm especially disappointed
that Hotel Rwanda didn't get more attention. It was far more deserving of it, and not just because of its subject matter. I saw it right before the Oscars and was shocked that it didn't receive more attention and more nominations.

And I really don't understand the continued snubbing of Martin Scorsese. He really, really deserved the Director Oscar this year. I think Million Dollar Baby was a lot of hype and hoopla over not that big of a deal.

4. I haven't seen "Hotel" yet
I did see "Ray", and I am glad Foxx won the oscar for that, but I thought overall that "Baby" was a better film than "Ray".

I am sure I will like Hotel Rwanda, though.

2. Did you see Mad TV last night?
"Clint Eastwood had a dream...to make the most depressing movie ever..."

Kinda sums it up for me.

And if you didn't see the skit, they do the sequel.

7. I wanted to punch the dirty fighter and the mother...LOL.
I hear Morgan Freeman is going to play Nelson Mandela. That should be great.

6. I strongly disagree!
The movie was average and unworthy of any awards.

Hotel Rowanda/Big Fish(not nominated) are much better movies.

12. "Big Fish" may have been excellent...
...but it was not nominated because it had been released the previous year (it opened December 10, 2003).

8. It's the "Terms of Endearment" of 2005
'Hotel and Ray were far superior.

BUT...that's why there's horse racing!

9. I saw it today too
and was impressed, particularly with Eastwood's quiet direction and the chemistry between him and Hilary Swank, which was electric, funny and intimate. She was just amazing portraying the scrappy boxer with one thing, a dream. Swank is going to deserve every Oscar she gets -- she's the best actress of the generation after this and "Boys Don't Cry," an even better film. I can't say how "Million Dollar Baby" compares to others -- not a good year for me seeing new films, unfortunately. It's a film of great depth though.

14. You know, I haven't seen "Boys Don't Cry" yet
I am impressed that Swank remains down to earth. 60 Minutes had a good interview with her. She rides the subway and eats in regular restaurants.

10. I loved the movie
I wish I hadn't read the spoilers for it because I knew it was coming, but I thought it was great and deserved every Oscar it got. A part of me rooted for Clint to win best actor, but everyone knew Jamie would walk away with it.

He deserved every single bit of the praise he got in Ray. I love that movie and we've watched it three times since getting the DVD.

I didn't see the other movies except for Ray, but I did feel like Million Dollar Baby deserved it. I'm buying it when it comes out on DVD.

13. I agree about Ray
Clint did a great job acting, but Jamie Foxx deserved that statue. I want to see Hotel Rwanda when it comes out on DVD.
