I am thinking there should be a get together for Miami-Lauderdale=Palm Beach DUers. Maybe in Broward to make it central. I don't have any firm notion of time or place. Anyone care to make suggestions and express their interest? I hope they don't move this to Florida forum, because nobody goes there.

If you know of anyone who doesn't get to the Lounge much, would you let them know we are here. Out of staters welcome too.

We tried for a west Coast FL get together in Sarasota in December. We had over 15 DUers scheduled to show, only 4 of us made it.

Shaw has a niche district carved out for him long ago. Except for Gwen Margolies several years ago, he's never had a serious challenge. Ron Klein, who is a state rep from Boynton, is apparently going to go after Shaw's seat.

I spent a great deal of my vacation time at The Eden Roc with my family, and I'm looking for an excuse to go there again.

For what it is worth, some Disney subsidiaries donate Democrat while other donate Republican. And Disney has fallen out of favor with Jeb, so they must be pissing him off.

I can suggest a few places: The Downtowner Saloon on the New River (and by the county jail)

Or there's several restaurants at the Riverwalk: Hooters, etc.

Good to know about Disney falling out of favor with Jebbie, 'cause we're going on the 18th thru the 20th. So, please don't have the meet up until after, ok?

The Ugly Tuna Saloona at RiverWalk is also an option - just across the river. Also, not a franchise. But, way more populated, especially on a Saturday nite.

74. I've been there twice

Once, a few weeks after it first opened - it was awful. Few places to eat, terrible service, a huge line to get to the poker tables.

Returned about two weeks ago - much more festive. Loads of shops, restaurants, clubs. But, it's expensive. Mixed drinks are $7.50 at most clubs and there's usually a cover - I got in free because I was a single female alone. Overall it was a good time, but it's not an inexpensive nite out.

I spoke to the manager at the Downtowner Saloon, who said they would be happy to have us. He told me the Broward Dem office is nearby and local party people go there frequently. I think we should let them know about this, in case they want to send some dignitaries. (Do democrats have dignitaries?)
