1. Smoking...
Edited on Mon Mar-14-05 02:04 AM by progressor
...and not getting any exercise.

I quit drinking soda and have downgraded to diet sodas, which is a good start to kicking bad habits.

3. Smoking here as well.
But I live with 2 smokers (my parents) and I just don't think that I'll be able to quit until after I move out, the temptation will be too great.

21. Thanks for the welcomes!
I will quit. But right now, my parents buy cigaretts by the carton. I mean, they order them online, and get like 20 cartons at one time. (Though they only order like every 3 or 4 months, it's not like they're smoking a couple of packs each a day.) So they're always here, eventhough I don't smoke that kind. So, right now, I've just been cutting back, making a pack last 3 or 4 days.

25. Thanks...
I'll give it a go when I'm ready - working long nights isn't conducive to quitting, though.

26. Smoking here too
Edited on Mon Mar-14-05 04:13 AM by Frozen Hamster
Man, I know smoking's bad for me and it makes me stink, but damn it feels so good and I just can´t stop
And chewing my fingernails. I gnaw them down to the quick and it often hurts, and it looks gross.

5. Driving fishing hooks into my eyes.
It's like I don't even notice I'm doing it anymore. Very embarassing at parties.

18. Just as long as you're not driving fish hooks into anyone....
else's eyes and not encouraging anyone else to do the same.

I don't want my kid thinking it's okay to drive fish hooks into her eyes.

You know how it goes...first one person does it, then everyone wants to do it.

20. Yes, fish hooks are a "gateway hook".
I know a guy who started with fishooks, and before he knew it, he was using ice tongs, contruction crane hooks, and those ones they use on helicopter winches.

That's why I think I should cut down.

6. Chewing gum.
I freak out if I'm not chewing it at every second.

Also, eating fast food. It always gives me the WORST stomachache, but apparently, pain is not something that my brain would like to register and hold.

8. not being able to get up in the morning...
I fight it every day - every time the alarm clock goes off (on?). Yes, I do think this is a type of habit - I fight it all the way. I hate getting up in the morning. I would like to break this habit and just get up and be somewhat happy, or at least not grumpy and mad. Any suggestions.

Has anyone tried hypnosis for any habits?

9. Smoking and Coke
I'm getting tired of smoking and I think I'm about ready to give it up. I notice the smell more and I am really hating it now.

Don't know about the coke, yet (coca-cola). It's a bitch to snort.:smoke:
