geez I think i had my first migraine yesterday
i feel so hung-over today after having the most excruciating headache of my life yesterday. Is this a common after effect of a migraine?

1. My experience
I feel worn out and beat up after a migraine. I also can feel the exact part of the head where the migraine was --- like it's sore although it no longer hurts as it did during the attack.
Don't know whether those feelings are typical.

2. I feel for you.!
I get at least 5 migraines a month. They are HELL!You usually have pain on one side of your head, sensitive to light and sound.Vomiting is common. The next day feels like you are recovering from the worst bought of flu ever.

3. One word of caution
according to my wife, who is a physician, when someone comes into the ER complaining of 'the worst headache of my life' they will almost always get some kind of scan, since this is sometimes a symptom of stroke or other serious brain pathology.

Sorry if that doesn't brighten your day, it's just something to keep in mind.
