Would I know it if I had ever had heartburn?
I think I've had heartburn before, but I'm not sure. Mr. Bouncy says if I really had, I'd KNOW it. That there's no "I'm not sure" about it.

Do you agree?

(I'm going for the most boring post ever.)

1. yea, i'd say so.
there are varying degrees, but if you really have heartburn, or acid reflux, or whatever the hell tehy call it, you KNOW. it's like someone poured gas down your throat and lit a match. the only thing that really cools it down is either some kinds of food or antacids...

4. I had it something awful during pregnancy.
And still get it when I drink too much coffee. It's awful.

5. When I was pregnant,
I just carried around the bottle of Mylanta and would swig when needed. I should have put it in a hip flask!

6. You may have just had a mild case
Edited on Mon Mar-14-05 04:35 PM by NC_Nurse
some people get it chronically...which is when they call it Gastro-esophageal reflux disease or GERD for short.. That's when you would know you had it. It can be really uncomfortable and cause damage to the esophagus if it is severe and chronic. Sounds like you don't have that problem. :)

9. Be glad! Pregnancy was the only time that I've had to deal with
it and toward the end I could get it from eating a piece of toast, not the foods one is warned about.

Hemorrhoids would make for a boring thread maybe?

12. Never had a 'roid, either.
I missed out on all the cool pregnancy stuff. No swollen ankles, either.

Dammit. But labor and delivery made up for all that. Total freaking nightmare of epic proportions.

11. The first time I did I thought I was having a heart attack
Seriously. It was only 6 years ago and I had no idea what was happening. One of the older ladies in the office gave me a Tums or something and it went right away.

I get them all the time now.
