Ever had a thing for uniforms?
Uniforms of any kind?

I confess. I did. I don't think I do anymore. I kind of outgrew it.

But when I was in my late teens and early 20s, the sight of a good looking man in uniform was enough to make my knees go liquid.

Police officer, fireman, military, ROTC, didn't matter.

What's that about?

Edited on Mon Mar-14-05 05:27 PM by Bouncy Ball
Whoooooo, is it hot in here? I'm sweating a little bit.

Before Mr. Bouncy got a promotion to sales (inside desk work), he worked in the warehouse and had a uniform. With a name patch.

Dear God that man was some serious sexy in that. ROWR.

And before that he was in the Army. Mmmmm. BDUs, that pale green t-shirt, blousing rubbers, the smell of those boots, the dogtags. Taking me back.

On edit: I forgot about men wearing tool belts. We are going to have to stop this discussion.

This is not actually his real work shirt. His real work shirt is light blue, but this one does the trick as well.

26. Bedroom eyes.
Almond shaped, deep set, hazeley green eyes with long lashes that he hated when he was younger.

When he found out how much women loved his eyes (in his 20s) he decided they weren't so bad. LOL!

We DO have some good lookin' men! Lucky us!

12. Eh, not really. I was still in my shy teens.
I didn't become 'hot' until I left home and had complete control over my apparel and haircut. If I dressed like my mom wants me to, I'd be a virgin until my early 30's.

8. Yup
I dated a coastie for a few years... yum, men in uniform. But blue-collar uniform does it too, especially mechanics... I mean, the uniform by itself doesn't do it, but if it's a uniform on a decent-looking guy to start with... rowr.

15. I wore one for 30 years.
Airline pilot.
Double breasted, brass buttons, gold stripes.
I cut quite a figure, as they say.
The nice thing about uniforms is that you don't have to decide what to wear to work every day.

17. My daughter, when she was small, was frightened of pilots. She thought
they were policemen. We never corrected her because it kept her really well behaved in airports. :)

I bet you were quite the looker! :loveya:

Airline pilots, fireman, Marine dress blues, cops, it's all good. But only on nice, fit men. A really heavy set guy in a uniform wouldn't do much for me, probably.

But their faces usually say "fuck you" or "I'm better than all of y'all" (I'm sure yours didn't, I just find that in general).

29. "Straight teeth, crooked smile"
From an old Bob Newhart bit about airline pilots.
And we all sound like Chuck Yeager.
I think that one's from "The Right Stuff".
Actually, I was not prepared for the admiring looks I got the first time I walked through an airport in uniform.
And I wish I had a nickel for everytime somebody said "Are you flying my airplane?"
I had a lot of snappy answers in my head, but I never uttered one.

"I don't know mam, which one is yours?"
"No mam, I'm flying one of TWA's airplanes today. Maybe next time."
"If you're going somewhere interesting, maybe I will."
"No mam, I'm a skycap."

25. No but uniforms were worn in the 60's because they were well made
and so many Vietnam vets were returning in them. Then the mod fashion crowd featured uniforms too, especially full dress uniforms.
I wore field jackets, USAF parkas and CPO shirts at times with beads, buttons, funny ties and shades.

30. Nurses...
Back in the "bad old un-enlightened days" when they were white, starched, and their thighs made that "swish-swish" sound from the nylons rubbing together when they walked....

Nowadays, they wear scrubs. Much more practical, but not fantasy-inspiring in the LEAST.

Still, I have seen a doctor or two that looked rather delicious. Coulda taken a bite out of them. Unfortutately the hottest looking one I ever saw delivered my daughter. VERY awkward, that.

37. Trad nurse uniforms are making a comeback.
Last time I was in a horpital (Victoria General), some of the nurses were switching back to the older-style white uniform and cap...with the head nurse sporting her black-stripped little cap.

One of the staff I talked to said that it was kind of a "nurse-pride" thing, wanting to separate themselves from other scrub-wearing staff, including female doctors.

Obviously the ones who need to wear scrubs, ie trauma team nurses, still will, but ones doing routine ward duty seemed to be switching to the older-style uniforms.
