1. I grew one in college at the insistence of my girlfriend who loved beards

After about 6 months, she finally asked me to shave it off because it developed into a brillo pad. My facial hair is very coarse and I hate the way it feels when it grows in, even when it's long.

2. Can't

I'd like to, but my facial hair is still kinda spotty on the sides of my face and I don't have much in the way of a "connector" between mustache and beard. I could grow a patch on my chin, but don't think that looks very good on me. FWIW, I do have a nice set of sideburns, and maybe since I'm 21 I've still got a few years left to be able to grow a full beard. I have my doubts, though...

3. My sophomore year of college

I did minimal grooming - showering and too brushing, no shaving - during finals week. Three days in, people started calling me red beard, and I was a little surprised to find that my facial hair was bright orange-red as my hair is light brown everywhere else. I've noticed that the longer eyebrow hairs are that color as well until I trim them. Anyway, I grew it and kept it for a while. Then grew another one a few years ago at the insistence of my girlfriend who was 5 years older than I was so she wouldn't feel like she was robbing the cradle. I've had it ever since.

But beards itch like hell, I can't deal past 2 weeks.

I've gone two three without shaving once but that's it. Lately I only shave one or twice a week. I don't mind stuble.

Mine is coming on around 2-3.

I don't like beards at all (one of the few things which will totally put me off a man), and definitely shave every day - or as my mother put it during a recent very heavy cold "I could tell you were really ill, you went more than one day without shaving".
