Why didn't Congress think of this??
Here is a simple solution to the Terri Schiavo dilemma: since fundamentalist Christians are adamant that God answers prayer, and we're told by the same that we should place her life is in God's hands and not let one man's decision result in pulling her feeding tube. So the perfect solution is for the true-believers to ask all the believers in the world who feel strongly about this to pray that God restore Terri to health. How could a loving God refuse that many heartfelt prayers??

Restoring Terri to health would solve all these problems this case has caused, plus it would result in a ton of side benefits. For one, it would take the heat off of God's team, the Republican Party. They are beginning to feel the anger of the people for meddling in this private matter. But more importantly, restoring Terri to health could only be characterized as a true miracle! This would prove to everyone that there IS a God, and that God DOES answer prayer. Once everyone in America was convinced, the Republicans would have no trouble setting up their theocracy, which is obviously what God wants, right?

This is such a perfect solution. A win-win solution for all (except Terri's husband who might have trouble explaining his two kids by another woman). We've GOT to spread this around!

What baffles me, though, is why all those fundamentalist Christians didn't think of this?! Why wait for an atheist like me to propose it?

Could it be (gasp!) that they don't really, really, really believe all that crap??

1. For the true believer, they should trust in the Lord

If she survives with out her feeding tube then it was the will of God.
I also think that all fundamentalist should fast for as long as it takes to save Terri!
There would be a few less fundies to worry about.

They are, they are, I found a link where there are hunger strikes...

PINELLAS PARK - For some who want Terri Schiavo's feeding tube reinserted, protesting is not enough. They have gone on hunger strikes.

2. Put the tube back in for a week
let them pray for a solid week.. if no change,, well, of course, God answers all prayers, but sometimes the answer is NO...
if after a week, then the tube is removed, and no more religious nonsense

3. What baffles me
is that fundamentalist Christians feel so strongly that their prayers will change anything. Do they presume to know better than God what should happen?

5. if they spent this much time and energy on really searching out WMDs
we wouldn't be killing our own in a misguided attempt to force democracy into the Iraqi collective gut through a tiny, inappropriate tube...

Selective Killas

Get that POS cutting his non-stop vacation short to 'Save' the fleshly remains of Terry Schiavo. After all the death warrants he signed in Texas. :puke:

6. If they spent this much time solving the starvation in the world
we could wipe out hunger.
It takes an act of congress to feed one person when they could feed millions.
Or on the health care side, it takes an act of congress to care for one person when they could solve the health care crisis for the nation.
Congress is obsolete, they only are in office for themselves and those who pay for their vacations.
