On Animal Planet tonight there was a show on hippos and baby hippos
Nice entertainment where all the baby hippos are playing and mommy and daddy hippos watching over them. Then a while later along comes a single mommy rhino and her seventeen day old baby. Nice little baby bouncing around the bottom of the river while mommy watches. A gator comes by and mommy shields baby until the gater goes away. Baby promptly goes off again bouncing in the river. Another gator comes and grabs the baby while the mommy watches helplessly.

What! I am sitting there watching a nice sweet program for almost an hour then, , , whomp violence.

WTF? They should have better prepared the viewers for that.

2. I hate that.
Why can't there be a show about animals, especially ones with cute babies, without death scenes. It makes me weary to watch any of them. I know it's part of nature. But it bothers me too much. I mean, they don't stage death scenes at the zoo, do they?

3. I stopped watching Nova programs on PBS
because of things like that. If not that, then they would announce how the animals will become extinct if changes aren't made. It was always so dismal.
