"Anchorman" is playing on my TV... I think it really sucks.

Why? Why do SNL players have such a hard time coming up with decent movies? (Yeah, there are some exceptions. But overall, they don't do much for me.)

It's all about the script, and way too many funny actors think they can write but can't.

but its in the "mindless humor" category, along with "old school" "van wilder" and the other "teen comedies"

8. It was a huge dissapointment

Mainly because I actually bought the damned thing. They promoted it to death and it had such a promising premise, but it's totally worthless. Sadly, there's some very talented people involved in it and even they couldn't save it. I'm sure the news team gang fights in the alley looked hilarious on paper but it should've been obvious in the cutting room that it didn't work. And - what the hell was Ben Stiller thinking???? He usually has better sense than this.

Every punch line was perfectly timed and set up-it really didn't matter what they said and it appears that they made the punch lines up as they went along.

Steve Carell with the hand grenade almost finished me off.
