What IS it with cats and paper bags?
I put an empty bag on my bed, and it's immediately claimed as my cat's new hideaway. She crawls in, and all you can see are her eyes peering out from the depths.

As long as she's enjoying herself.... and the sack was free!

1. They love bags and boxes.
My girlfriends cat will sit in any new space that she decides to aqcuire. This includes full shopping bags and small boxes. If it's big, she uses it as a second home. It's cute, funny and somehow makes their lives worth living.

4. I have an old shoebox she fits into perfectly.
I put an old tee shirt in it, and she sleeps in it for hours.

But what she REALLY likes is my laptop case-- I made the mistake of leaving it wide open on the bed one day-- I turned around and she had fallen asleep in it. So now I have to open it up for her. I don't mind, but the velcro strap is now full of cat fuzz....

5. You gotta be careful where you leave the bags
Socrates climbed on the kitchen table, stuck his head inside a Burger King bag, and started walking around like it weren't no thing. He even climbed off the table wearing the damn thing. We think he has BagVision(TM). :D

6. Both my cats love them. Noah in particular loves all boxes
even if he can't fit in them (he's a big boy).

7. It is some sort of instinct. My friend was half way to work when she

heard her cat(back when she was a little kitten) meowing from inside her tote bag, which she had left sitting on the floor by her door.
Paper bags, open suitcases, open drawers, open cabinets, even open refrigerators! It is absolutely amazing what a curious cat will crawl into.

8. Paper bags, boxes, newspaper, small confined spaces....
I don't buy them cat toys (well, only the occasional catnip toy).

This is Roo, in all his glory:
