PIMP my Pope...the Creepiness of Displayed Corpses
I don't know about you, but displaying mummified corpses has always struck me as, well creepy.

And since I'm going to hell anyway (if there is such a place) why not add some humor...

1. Displaying them? No. Taking pictures of them (as my husband's creepy
family has done at funerals)? You bet it's creepy. :hi:

2. That's an old tradition
My Italian family - long before I was born - used to take pictures, not just of the corpse in the coffin, but with it standing, propped up, and all the mourners around it.

That way, the people back in the Old Country knew who had gone to the funeral.

Those old photographs, by the way, are quite valuable now.

5. Child corpses.
I saw a story on The History Channel(??)about people taking pictures of their deceased children in the early 1900's. I think it was around the time of the big influenza. Creepy but sad.

I also heard that the pictures are very valuable. That, in it self, is very creepy.

3. I noticed the little block of wood wedged under the heel of his shoes.
It looks like something built in my wood-shop. Hopefully it won't come lose and cause a runaway Pope.

4. There's also this chapel in Rome . . .
and the inside is decorated with the bones of deceased capuchin monks. I've never been there, but it strikes me as kinda odd. I'm not sure why Roman Catholicism is big on the display of human remains, but evidently it's their thing.
