Poll question: Are you funny?

Well WE know if you're funny, but I want to know if YOU think you're funny. And guess what? It's a poll, so nobody has to know what you answered!

1. I tend to make people LOL just as they're taking a sip of something in RL

Hey, I grew up fat. Humor as a defense mechanism, ya know.

Anyway, I always seem to make people choke on coffee or spew soda whenever my friends and I get together. It's like clockwork.

Although it must not come across on here. I haven't learned the art of online humor. I know I laugh my ass off at some things I write, but then it drops like lead.
I have my own brand of humor and offline I can keep people laughing all day. This online humor is tough though.

6. Not nearly as funny as a heart attack

I have no sense of humour. The last time I laughed was in 1969 - I was three and being tickled so it probably doesn't count. I have never told a joke, made a witty remark or even made anyone smile.

My boyfriend thinks my total lack of humour is funny, but I think he's just humouring me.

7. Funnier in real life

Much of my humour would be revealled by changes in tone of voice or sometimes facial expressions, which cannot be transmitted on-line. Frequently people on-line haven't even realised that I'm being witty - putting something like lol or an emoticon somewhat destroys the subtle nature of the humour.

web-cam! I'm SURE that if you'd said it to me in person, I would have gotten it. Intonation makes so much difference with humor. I remember the first time I saw the play The Merchant of Venice. I'd had NO IDEA that it was a comedy! It didn't read like one, to me. But then I heard it spoken, and the humor came through...

15. My funny-ness depends on my audience. sometimes there are those

that just don't 'get' me. But when they do... I have made people pee their pants, in public! there's about 10 people I know that would say I am fucking hilarious, but about the same number would say I'm not.

I am not funny at all. I can only remember one joke complete with punchline and since it's a sexist, racist joke I can't even tell that one. In fact, it is so behind the times that when a 12 year pressed me to tell my only joke anyway and his parents piled on then I told the joke and he blinked his eyes and said didn't even get it.

As I said to the parents, "Well, we were all working for the day when no one would understand those jokes."

The great thing about me is since I can't remember any jokes I laugh at yours every time. No matter how many times you tell it, it's new to me. I'm the "50 First Dates" of jokes.

34. I don't think anybody else picked up that it's supposed to be a linear

progression from top to bottom. Entirely my fault for sticking "funnier online than in real life/ funnier in real life than online" in the middle, but I couldn't figure where else to put them. God knows everybody knows that Carrot Top isn't funny, though; guess I still needed to be completely transparent and add "(ie, totally not funny)." Oh well.

As to not remembering jokes, that doesn't stop you from being funny. Mostly jokes are a tool that people who aren't funny rely on because they can't think of anything clever themselves. Just belt out whatever silly thing occurs to you and you'll probably find you're as funny as the next person, or funnier.

I now have a reputation for one-liners, and my friends expect me to be funny. We'll be talking together, and suddenly something entirely wicked comes unexpectedly from me...and everyone laughs. I usually pause for just a second before delivering the line, and this just increases the laughter. It's a gift. The lines I deliver come completely spontaneously out of me; I can't think of them ahead of time or plan them at all...And I love making people laugh...It just makes them (and me) happy.
