And not sure what you mean by "fix." The only thing that I do is call and demand a refund for each day that it is down and I am promised that I will get it (have to wait for next bill)

6. We have that problem with Cox
quite frequently. Last Friday morning it went out, we called and they said they were busy and since we were the only ones who had an outage it would be Monday before they would fix it. 3 days with no internet or TV. We were fine except the weather was iffy and we really depend on either TV or Internet to keep up with radar. Thankfully it was more than just us so it was fixed quickly. It really pisses me off, we do demand to not be charged for the days that it is out. I wish I had a choice right now. When we move we will no longer have cable and will have to rely on satellite.

18. Just the internet
You'll actually be connected, but unable to surf (except by IP address) and unable to use most chat/download programs

Also, it could just be VERY VERY slow
Usually the lucky ones are just very slow

22. Well
Edited on Thu Apr-14-05 04:47 PM by GirlinContempt
Comcast isn't recommending this, but the problem is the DNS servers. Using alternate DNS server resolves the issues. the source is me, and a lot of forums online will give you the same information. It's known for sure that the DNS is the issue, so bypassing it resolves it. It's perfectly safe, and legal.

23. oh sorry
powercycle is when you unplug the modem for 15 seconds or so, and then plug it back in (from the power that is, not the other cables)

Release/renew -> go to start, click run. type in cmd then ok
In the window that appears, type in 'ipconfig /release' and then 'ipconfig /renew' (without the '')

4 mb?? That could be it. It was supposed to be done in late March or March. I can't remember.

25. No
Everyone has been migrated, at least in the new markets.
The problems have nothing to do with migration
