My boss is an evil genius...
Edited on Thu Apr-14-05 02:38 PM by Modem Butterfly
So my partner and I are selling and buying a house. It's a stressful time for me. My boss and the CFO come into my office, shut the door, sit down, and pull out my employee file. The CFO says, "We need to talk about your performance lately,"

Gulp. :scared: :hide: :scared:

My boss says, "We notice you've been distracted, and we think it has something to do with your househunting. So we've decided to give you your annual raise and bonus early. Also, we're giving you a three day weekend tomorrow since you've been putting in a lot of hours,"

:spray:

4. Not much more
She and the CFO got WAAAAYYYY too big a laugh at the expression on my face. That woman is an evil genius, I tells you. I shall be avenged.

9. That's Awesome! I'm Sure That Makes You Feel Really Good
To be appreciated like that.

I'm FINALLY in a position w/ my job where I too am appreciated. It took a long time though and throughout most of my career that was not the case, but it is now and it really is quite gratifying.

10. Hehehe, that reminds me of what my boss did recently
by paying for my new digital SLR camera AND giving me a 5% raise on the same day :). And my boss is a diehard Bushite. . . go figure.

11. Sweet
something similar happened to my brother years ago... when he had to take a second job to make ends meet. His manager gave him a big raise to keep him from needing to work elsewhere, and his performace at job #1 improved immensely.

13. I had one of those today too
I had to gey my Ohio driver's license. Testing involved a 50 question computerized test, which had the toughest driver law questions I've ever seen-and I've had driver's licenses in several states, so I can compare. I got the necessary number right, after sweating it about several questions, and when I went up to see the examiner, she says "OK, we'll see you tomorrow to take it again." Joking of course. Really freaked me out.
