In praise of the mediocre - redux
Edited on Thu Apr-14-05 03:13 PM by redqueen
All the ragging on stuff subjects today reminded me of an old thread I started. So... I'm posting it again. :P

I often think about artists who aren't so great. Mostly because people rag on them all the time. Whether it's not-so-good paintings, not-so-good music, not-so-good acting, not-so-good singing... whatever. It's good enough that they can make a living at it - or at least do it part time - but not great. So then we have all the resultant bitching and ragging about how they're not so good.

Well I just wanted to say that I appreciate the fact that people have different tastes -- one man's trash and all that. I think it's a good thing, even. People enjoying mediocre things makes it possible for more artists to enjoy doing what they love, and I'm all for as many of us escaping the rat race as possible!

To all fans of not-so-good stuff (by whoever's estimation), I salute you!
