I just moved. Since it was to a different city, I had to get a new number. I HAVE gotten calls, lacking in any detail, expressing an urgent need for me to call (800) 398-7798. It's a COLLECTION AGENCY. "Rodolfo R. Gonzales" is the little c**t giving out EVERYONE'S NUMBER HE CAN GET HIS HANDS ON to duck them. He NEEDS to die. All of you "right to life" people, LISTEN TO ME...Rodolfo R. Gonzales NEEDS TO DIE. It took a LOT of Googling to figure this one out. And YES, this c**ksucker MUST die. SOON.

In January, I received repeated (about 4 days a week between 10AM and 4PM), unsolicited, prerecorded phone calls from (201) 210-3618 telling me to call (866) 877-0026. Because I had no idea who either party was (the caller didn't identify itself in any way), I decided to just close my eyes and hope the problem went away (for about a month and a half, actually). Finally, I called back the phone that sent the call, and was greeted with a "this call may be recorded" message after which the line was promptly dropped. Later, I called back the 866 number, which told me they were "Global Vantage" and forwarded to an Indian call center. They addressed me as "Rodolfo R. Gonzales," at which point I realized something was amiss. I got them to remove my number from their database, and I thought all was well. Until about a week ago. That was when I got another obscure call claiming it wasn't trying to sell me anything and directing me to an 800 number. Because the message on the other end was nearly inaudible, I decided to wait for another call to try anything. That other call came today. I decided to call them back, but first I had to figure out who "them" was. First, I googled the different combinations to see if I could find something obvious, but failed. Then I called each combination to hear the greeting messages; that eliminated two (one was a voicemail box and one was disconnected). I decided to assume that the caller was saying "ninety" instead of "nine eight," and dialed it. I talked to a person who said that I was the 200th or so person to call today, and that the number was actually (800) 398-7798. I apologized and thanked him, then dialed the real number.
This time, it was the right place, "SBC solutions" (or something, B and C sound like so many other letters). I talked to a person who said that they were looking for a person under the name of "Rodolfo R. Gonzales." Arrg. I asked when the number was put in their database, and he said a month ago. So that means that some moron has been putting my number on credit applications or something, and it's making me very unhappy.
