Was I being a prick?
So I was at a party tonight, and at around 2:30 I was saying to my two friends, "Hey let's call a cab or driving Alternative now, so we'll get home at a decent time." They were both hammered and wasting time and just being stupid. I forgot my cell at home so my buddy gave me his phone to call a cab, which I did after calling info to get the number... I had remembered the number and was dialing it when he grabbed the phone from me bitching about "expenses"... this guy makes about $70,000 a year so it's not like fifty cents to make sure we get a cab will kill him, but he is notoriously cheap. As well, earlier they ate the pizza I was cooking, they just grabbed it and ate it..

Anyway, one thing lead to another and I was cranky cause I wanted to go home and my drunk buddies were being idiots, next thing I knew they were both writhing in pain(one on the floor) cause I punched them in the nuts.

It just kinda happened, I didn't pre-meditate it.

Did I do a bad thing or did they deserve it?

20. Well, I DID let one of them get me back
Because I found myself in a room full of people who wanted to punch me in the nuts - you know what that's like?

So I figured I'd get it over with and stood there and said " Okay one free shot," and the fucker kicked me in the nuts.

The other just swore revenge :scared:

If you were my friend, and you punched me in the nuts, then you are no longer my friend...I would no longer have happy thoughts towards you...

5. I used to have a buddy like that.
He used to get drunk and refuse to leave a party or bar. I used to just leave him. I would say one time " I am leaving" then go. I think I left him to walk home four or five times. He was out with another buddy drinking and this guy left him 100 miles from home because he didn't understand the ride was leaving. He ended up having to hitchhike home Sunday morning because he spent all his money on booze.

6. If a friend of mine punched me in the nuts,
but then, after I got sober, he told me that I was being a drunk moron idiot, I'd say, "Oh, so I deserved it then?" and he'd say "Yep" and I'd say "okay. Sorry i was being such an idiot." and that would be the end of it.

Since reason doesn't work with drunk people, all you can do is punch 'em in the nuts or something equivalent to get them to stop being idiots.

I think you did good, HEyHEy!

7. I'm sorry but
I've been getting drunk with friends since 1973 and when drunk no friend has ever laid a hand on me, let alone punch me in the nuts...I'm a very mellow person but if somebody did decide to punch me in my nuts then I fear my inner anger might manifest itself and I might decide to autograph my friend's head with a crowbar or something similar, just on the spur of the moment...Repercussions like this must be considered...

I mean, consider it....It's really stupid.

8. I'm a woman, I say it's kind of okay-as in, I don't think they'll stop
being your friend.

However, I would have just left them there.

I wonder if you'll get different answers from men, who actually know what it's like to be punched there.

10. well it hurts...
...really really bad, for awhile, but upon reflection if a friend did that to me because I was being really obnoxious and I realized that after awhile then I could forgive him but I would always be careful around him after that...so in a way it can work out for the better!

11. well upon reflection...
it's a very vulnerable spot and it doesn't take much to incapacitate a person by targeting that area for assault...

16. Well "friends" who drink to oblivian are a clear indicator of a serious
Edited on Sun Apr-17-05 09:29 AM by radwriter0555
problem to begin with, and that first should be examined, since drinking to drunk indicates serious emotional problems and likely alcohol addiction.

Then, assaulting these so-called friends is another indicator of a complete lack of self control and a marked immaturity which could be the root of the problem and choice of companions to begin with.

What's the pleasure in being around drunken fools? What do you get out of it?

But I have to doubt you're ready for any self-examination of the behavioral choices at the moment, no offense.

I'm just bringing up the issues related to the underlying problems, not the actual events. I'm a 'treat the problem, not the symptoms' kind of gal.

And it's all out of love.

It's really not relevant to the question asked, I suppose, but it would certainly help me w/ my visualization of the incident.

24. Well, yeah.
As much as you might have enjoyed the visualization of their writing in pain on the floor, having been punched in the aforementioned nuts, and while the punching may have been at least partially justified, it was rather prickish, in my opinion.

I'd have just left them to fend for themselves. Let him call his own damn cab.

25. Oh God, this thread is back again!
So, did I make an ass out of myself in my replies? I'm afraid to look...

It's just that I would be very angry if somebody punched me in the nuts, after I picked myself up off the ground...

But then again, I have no idea how disputes are resolved in places I know little about!

30. They were pricks for eating your pizza, but if you resort to physical...
...violence, especially kicking a supposed "friend" in his family jewels, then whatever you got in return, should be expected. If someone kicked me in the nuts, they may get a bottle up side their head. But then again, I don't have any "friends" who would kick me in the nuts. But then again, I don't have any friends who would eat my food without asking. Doesn't sound like y'all are really that much of friends to me all the way around.
