1. Not really
He's fairly honest, as urban politicos go. He's just dumb as a fence post, and that's on a *good* day. Around here everybody calls him "Mumbles."

That's Tom Menino of Boston, if it's not obvious from context. And no, he wasn't at the meetup.

4. My mayor was recently voted the worst mayor in the US
Kwami Kilpatrick. Blech. I can't think of anything positive to say about him.

5. I don't have a mayor...

I think that High Wycombe (which is near to me) has one - but not in the American sense (it's essentially a ceremonial position).

7. My, my ... insomnia this evening?
You're up late ...

This whole mayor issue will look much less distressing in the light of day. I swear! :P

10. Up late?
Edited on Mon Apr-25-05 08:19 AM by tjwmason
It's quarter past two in the afternoon - I'm at work pretending to be being useful and productive.

Edit to clarify time.

6. Slime boy Randy Kelly. An elected Dem who endorsed Bush
Exerpt from his CYA letter to the editor:

While my personal choice for President last year was George W. Bush, I remain a Democrat. Like many of you, I believe that our obligations as citizens sometimes transcend partisan politics. While I respect your right to criticize my decision, I trust you respect my right to make that decision. I suspect that many Democrats — and Republicans — over the past several decades have found that there are times when they choose a different candidate to support than that of their political party.

---------------------------------------------------------------
He has a snowball's chance in hell of ever getting elected for anything again.

9. We have a good mayor
He is one of us. But he can't speak about that too loudly as the mayoral office is not a partied office and I think that is why he got in. He is a good guy.

13. Our last few mayors here have sucked.
They're all anti union, and they treat the Firemen here in town like crap. Actually, the last mayor, who recently lost all his savings in an investment scam, just got hired as the City Manager. I guess people think he can manage a town, even if he can't manage his own finances. And the woman who is the current mayor was the town clerk for several years, and she's so far up the city manager's ass, I'm sure she's tickling some nose hairs.

15. That wouldn't be hard
ours never promotes us and is busy lining his own pockets. The democrats never run anyone that can beat him. He just sits at *silly hall* and gets fatter and richer off of us. He believes he is gods gift to the masses. I'd love to see him gone. He is a wimp on any important issue. But something that benefits him he can really speak up...
