Ladies, I just did something I hate to do: Shop for bras
why can't stores carry my size? It would make life so much easier. I have worn the same style of bra for years, but the website that I always order from discontinued the style.

I ordered bras last week in the size I always wear, and I just had to send them back because they were TOO SMALL. I haven't gained or lost weight. I have been the same size since the birth of my daughter ten years ago. Now I have to send five bras back to the UK.

How come women's clothing sizes are so inconsistent?

2. Because women's clothes are usually designed by men!
I hate bra shopping too! Even when I was thin, it was always frustrating. They make bras for teenage girls with not much on top. If you have any boobage, you're shit out of luck! :-(

5. The manufacturers try to force women into an ideal
they don't take into account curves, big shoulders, small shoulders, short legs, longs legs and a variety of other features that don't fit into their design.

16. It's the manufacturers
They try to fit women into 5 band sizes and 10 cup sizes in order to cut corners. We're basically in a bad position no matter what our size.

4. No you don't! And I can empathize with you!
Don't you just LOVE to pay $50 for a bra? I really hope my daughter doesn't inherit her Mom's bra size. I also have a narrow frame and large cup size. It is a real hassle to find bras!

6. my older daughter is exactly like me physically
but she can fit in a 34. i have to wear a 32(DD). even a 32D is impossible to find.

i pay $35 for a custom made bra from decent exposures. i have yet to find anything else as comfy.

10. I'm a 34H. I can only find my size online.
Several years back, I found a store on the Lower East Side of Manhattan that sold my size. There are some websites that carry styles that aren't ugly, or that don't look like stripper wear.

11. i don't have the patience to shop in a store
i hate shopping! i'll be damned if i'm going to go to the city and try on bras all day.

when my daughter buys online, i order something for me. if it's too small, it's hers. lol other than that, i stick with decent exposures.

thank god i don't work outside my home, so i go without all winter, wearing a coat. come summer, though, it's time to strap 'em in. it's not ME that cares, i just get tired of people staring.

7. I Hate Bras!!
Edited on Tue Apr-26-05 08:27 PM by latebloomer
They are so friggin uncomfortable, especially the underwire ones. As soon as I get home, the first thing I do is free myself from my bra.

I heard somewhere bras help cause breast cancer, esp underwires, because they prevent the lymph glands in the area from flowing freely. I wouldn't doubt it.

BRAS KILL!

on edit-- But I also hate the sight of my big, somewhat saggy tits in a tight top with no bra!!

The trials of being a woman!

8. Oh, sweetie, I feel ya. (No innuendo intended). Here, try this:
It may take some trial-and-error, some ordering & sending back, but try http://www.lanebryant.com -- even if you're not a big woman. They have some sizes that fit the average woman.

I've had excellent success with their Cacique line. Never perfect (I don't think the perfect bra exists) but they're very good.

I'd shop Victoria's Secret if they made 46D.

Good luck!
