4. Mine Works Very Well

I get very good speeds and have had no interruptions. The only problem is that a regular phone extension cord cannot be beyond a certain length without disrupting the signal. Setup didn't take all that long. There were a couple of problems, but the between the installation software and help line it was not too difficult to work out.

Note: I am a Verizon employee. But I was on an ISDN trial about 15 years ago, which was terrible. The DSL is infinitely better.

I'm not totally satisfied as despite much effort I can't make it work with AOL--(don't start on me my fellow AOL haters, I HAVE to have it for personal email because I have no way to notify some international networking contacts that are ultimately important to me, but for whom I don't have updated contact info).

I have to pull up AOL email off the internet link as a result and it is VERY slow and unsatisfactory. I also don't think I'm getting the speed promised with Verizon, but am pissed that they and AOL have not been able to figure out the conflict.

I'm sure I'll change soon, but just haven't had time to deal with it.

11. My dad has verizon dsl.

He has no problems with it. If you don't mind spending an extra $15/month, Comcast broadband is about twice the speed. Thats what I have, as I have needed the ability to remotely log-in and transfer large CAD files.

16. Not that much of difference here,

I pay $45/mo for Comcast Broadband (though I have a $5 discount b/c i have Comcast cable - not digital or w/lots of movie channels), and Verizon dsl the last time i checked was $30/mo. The speed is at least double that of dsl, and with the amount of CAD files that i am accessing I need it.

13. $30/month, no startup fee and I'm satisfied with it

I had cable modem before and notice little difference in speed. I also live near a 'hub'-MIT-so maybe that's why I don't notice.

Cable modem is a ripoff at $60/month...
