He used to be decent, but now not only his "patriotic songs" are bad - his others are, too.

Some of his older stuff wasn't bad; he had some good country-pop-rock (for lack of a more precise term!). I especially liked a few of the sad songs he released as singles. But it was like when he recorded that asinine "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue" his output started to be very uninspired and dumb. I haven't liked a single he's released since (and including) that one.
