WTF? They are reporting this like they broke the story of the century. For some strange reason I think there might be other stories that they could have been investigating instead of if Paula Abdul boinked some dude.
This thread is not a trash on American Idol, I am just floored that from the little I saw, they were showing the records they uncovered...and they are serious about it. I wish these people would go after real stories. I don't know..maybe about illegal wars, or corrupt governments.
I don't know, maybe I am asking too much.

1. Maybe it is a practice run
at real investigative journalism. Can't go after the administration, so they are trying this out for practice or something???

11. It's surreal
It would be fine if it were on Entertainment Tonight or something. Maybe I have missed a lot of these types of shows. Is this the way all these "News" shows are?

13. Like I said above
If it were on Entertainment Tonight or one of those shows, that would be one thing. But they were acting like this was huge news. And I was laughing because the anchor was so serious about it.

9. Did you mistake Primetime Live for a news show?
It's entertainment schlock. They don't cover anything of value. From what I can tell--and I just got turned on the TV after seeing your thread--this is as interesting as any other fluff they might put on.

17. Oh?
I honestly thought Primetime Live was a news program. OK then, I guess I jumped the gun. I was thinking it was supposed to be like 60 Minutes. My bad..

23. I've never seen any news on it
It has murder scandals, celebrity interviews, diets, etc... Though I can't say that I watch it very often. It's not 60 minutes, that's for sure.

33. How do you have a communist media in a corporatist-fascist state?
I think Stalin would be impressed by our whore media, but that's where the comparisons to communism end.

20. I am so embarassed about my profession
These prettyboy ratings whores just make me want to puke. A few years ago, I was at a bar with some TV people, CNN included, and they took over the table talking about their "gets." I finally said, not one of those things was worth the tape it cost to record it and got up and left. Giving them the finger on the way out.

They really are scum.

22. So Paula Abdul is bonking a guy?
Good for her. Even better for him. Congrats to both. End of story.

Now we return to regular broadcasting......

Where our young men and women in Iraq are fighting an illegal and unjust war. Where we get to see our sons and daughters killed and maimed. Where we get to see them come home with broken bodies but have their medical benefits cut.

But, damn, ain't entertainmant great and don't we have our priorities screwed up?

Khash.

29. The thing is
it's a guy who was on the show. He claims she was favoring him and giving him tips and sleeping with him. I personally could care less but if a show is having a contest wouldn't you be suspecious if you heard a judge was sleeping around with someone? He ended up being kicked off because he was having trouble with the law and didn't tell about it and he had hearings and all that.

34. The thing is
I don't give a flying fuck. Sure, if she's making wild monkey love with a contestant it calls into question her ability to be an objective judge.

OK let me put this bluntly: IT DOES NOT FUCKING MATTER!!!!! If we wanna do a real sex story - let's take a look at the sex lives of the disabled men and women who come back from Iraq. Trust me, there is more drama and horror and hope and courage than you will ever see on some TV show. I know. I had a lover who was a VietNam vet, he was paralyzed. I had to relearn everything I knew about sex. And now that I'm disabled, I thank all the gods that I had him in my life. I learned early and fairly easily. But I learned a lot. A lot. I fear I will never be the man he was, but at least I have a goal to strive for and know it's possible to reach.

So if Paula Abdul is fucking some guy.... once again, good for her. So it turns out (horror!) that she might be fucking him and helping him to win on a TV show. So what? It does not really matter.

So to Paula: Fuck anybody you want, girl, and I hope you enjoy it.

So now let's go back to our regular broadcasting schedule and the things that really matter.....

Khash.
