Images of War
I received this flash presentation < http://www.bushflash.com/y2.html > in an email from CODEPINK. If you don't have a broadband connection it will take a few minutes to load, but it's worth it. All pictures in the presentation were taken during March and April, 2005. No one is quite sure just what we are doing in this war, and yet the grief, misery and wanton destruction on all sides are clear.

On the other hand, students at the University of Buea in the African nation of Cameroon joined fellow students at the University of Yaounde I in a strike demanding such basics as better access to drinking water and toilet facilities on campus. In response, police raided and destroyed student apartments, brutalized occupants and murdered two students. The links below show GRAPHIC PHOTOS of the strike's death and destruction. Don't click them if you're not up to it.

What do these two stories have in common? Perhaps just the irony of the universal suffering of the just and the innocent at the hands of corrupt and unbridled power.
