Did Paula Abdul do it?
I have to say yes. Sure Corey Clark has an axe to grind, a book coming out, and an album. No question about his motives, but evidence seems to say she was getting a piece of his American Idol pie!

1. I say Nope
I think those phone calls... which are the only tangible evidence... were made after it was found out that he had a prior criminal record and so was booted. I was just calling him to console him which if you listen to the messages would make perfect sense.

4. What about the people at the Sprint store that say they came
in together. What about his new clothes that he couldn't have paid for. What about her telling him not to talk to the press? Sounds fishy to me. I still think she did it. He also described her house pretty well. Not sure if he was correct, but I don't know...

IMO, if she didn't do it, she and Fox would have come out saying it was a lie, they were going to sue for slander, etc.; instead of the pathetic "I'm not going to respond" response.

3. Maybe ...
I just don't understand why it's such a big deal. If he were under age, then this would've warranted a full hour on Primetime. But, he was 22 - who gives a shit? I'm sure Simon has had his share ...

The only thing that might matter is if she was helping him. But, I still don't care.

5. It wouldn't be a big deal, but if you were one of the other contestants,
would you not feel a little jilted to know that someone was getting a little inside help. Even though they don't actually effect the outcome, their opinions to carry some weight with the public. But I have to say, that I think he is a cutie, although what he is doing is pretty shitty.

7. Who cares?
The best way to deal with a crooked politician is to vote him out of office and send him to the pen.

The best way to deal with a crooked judge on a television game show (if Ms. Abdul did indeed do it) does not differ at all from the way of dealing with television beign generally insipid (regardless of whether or not Ms. Abdul did it):

25. Wow! You don't even know me, but whatever.
I am a Christian, but last time I checked, I am also a human who, surprising as it may seem, sins. Yeah it is a guilty pleasure, just like smoking(sin, harming the body), me sitting here typing instead of working (sin, lazy) and oh so many other sins that I as a Christian and a human commit every single day. Are you also suggesting that I as a Christian should be perfect (try as I might, I will only set myself up for failure. By the way, what's your problem anyway?

33. I don't care for the way you talk down to me as if I do not know that
gossip is sinning. I try to educate myself on the Bible everyday. My point was that even though there are more important things happening in this world, I still am, for some reason, curious about this story. I watch American Idol and wanted to know the background info. I had no idea you would try to turn this into something it's not. And by the way, I'll be sure to take my sins up with God. All Christians in a sense are hypocrites because we can never live up to what Jesus was.

19. The question I have to ask is...
if this is all true, why wait until now to "clear things up"?

The only thing I could think of, looking at this guy, was "sleazebag". He's (at most) a slightly-above-average talent who hopes that a little scandal will push his album onto the charts.

What's REALLY sad is, it'll probably work.

35. What evidence?
FIrst of all just to be a contestant on those shows one has to pass a background check.

Sure, the contestant was vetted poorly in this case..and I can assure you the person who LET that person be ON the show most probably no longer works for the network.

As for whether Paula had contact AFTER the fact, who knows?

As far as people saying she is a whack job, she's actually had relatively FEW bad PR occasions for a celebrity but for her high profile divorces but they were with people IN HER LEAGUE.

I will wait for further evidence.

Her messages to him about not talking to the press seems odd to me. If he had nothing to tell the press, why would she call him to say that. And also the Sprint store said they came in together. Of course it could all be lies or coincidence, but I don't know. She just sure seems chummy with certain contestants (Corey, Constantine, Justin G. from season 1). Maybe I'm reading too much into this. It's not really a big deal, just wanted to get other people's take on it.:)

59. I don't know if they had a sexual affair or not but there is evidence
to support that she was communicating a great deal with a contestant she was supposed to be judgeing. All those phone bills and it appears people can id her buying a cell phone with Corey and clothes. So that puts her credibility as a judge in the trash bin. Not that she really had that much credibility as it is.
