1. Around here we call Tecate "Mexican fighting beer"
I toured the brewery a couple of years ago. Tecate is a nice little town. Much more like the interior of Mexico than the border areas like Tijuana.

14. Bonus points
if you can pronounce "Cervecería Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma" after drinking a Tecate or two. Or totally sober, for that matter.

I can pronounce "Cervecería Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma" even better after a couple of quarts of MFB.

30. Negra Modelo. Yes, I've been some strange places with Tecate.
I have this wonderful college memory, somewhere in Los Angeles, of a burning palm tree and the rats were leaping out of it (do keep your palm trees trimmed!) and my nose was bleeding, but I do not remember who hit me, or why.

37. And, down there...
In Mexico you can buy the big Pacifico "caguamas" which are close to 40oz. After getting your bottle deposit back, they come out to like $1.50 or something.

ahh...Mexico!

5. Put 'Bohemia' up there.
But I really like an ice-cold Dos Equis Dark, or Tecate. :9

9. Negra Modelo is probaby the best one on your list, although...
I personally have a sweet spot for Tecate.

Modelo Especial is also good. You might also look for anything by the Casta brewery. They have poor distribution in the States, but they are really good if you can find them in your area.

Dos Equis or Corona, and since Corona sucks...I will choose the Dos Equis any day

21. Rogue Chipotle Ale!

OK, so it's made in Oregon, and not Mexico, but it's still better than any of the choices above.

Chipotle Ale

Dedicated to Spanish author Juan de la Cueva, who, in 1575, wrote of a Mexican dish that combined seedless chipotles with beer: Chipotle Ale is based on Rogue's Oregon Golden Ale, but delicately spiced with smoked chipotle chile peppers. Deep golden in color with a tight head, rich malty aroma, delicately smooth and crisp flavor, and subtle chipotle chili finish. Formerly known and packages as Mexicali Rogue, Chipotle Ale is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, and Maier Munich Malts; Willamette and Cascade hops; and Smoked Jalapeno (Chipolte) Peppers. Chipotle Ale is targeted for spring release and available in a 22-ounce bottle and on draft. Blend it with Rogue Chocolate Stout and create a Mole' black and tan!

Measurements: 13 degrees Plato, IBU 34, Apparent attenuation 77, Lovibond 24

I used to drink Cave Creek Chili Beer on occasion as well, but it was really bad the last couple times I tried it. I don't think it's really made in Arizona anymore :-(

35. A friend of mine was drinking a Corona down in Mexico...
He took a couple of drinks and noticed that there was a lime in the bottom of the bottle.

My friend and his buddies didn't have any limes...it was left by whoever drank out of the bottle before him.

31. Sol, one of my faves
I didn't know if it would make the poll as it doesn't seem to be that well known.

I mainly opened your thread just to see if it had made it.

My Cinco de Mayo is made!
