I didn't know the 5th of May was Cinco de Mayo
Not until a few years ago anyway. I wrote a song a while back, and this was what it came out as:
I don't think they are inter-related..lol

5th of May

She walked up to me sleeping in reality
I couldn’t disagree with her
Something in her eyes disturbed my inner child
My Id began to smile and burn.

“Don’t walk away” is all she had to say
“Disappointment came my way” she laughed
“I shouldn’t stick around, but boy you got me down
My verbs have turned to nouns in the past”.

I didn’t have the heart to tell her not to start
Putting me in parts in her plays
Act one was fine, but it never crossed my mind
It’s not a Shakespeare kind of day

Silly little thing I think it’s interesting
How you’re trying hard to bring me down
That’s alright I didn’t put up a fight
I knew that overnight I’d be gone

I waited around pulling weeds out of the ground
And made myself a crown of thorns
Neatly tucked away were the photographs she made
Taken on the 5th of May; she swore.

She never did return, but from what I have learned
She’s raising Quetzal birds in the south
She sleeps with her friends playing not too hard to get
She says she doesn’t want to let me down.
