2. i always like to ask the question
what did you do BEFORE you had a cell phone? stay at home all day waiting for the phone to ring? 99% of the time it can wait...

3. Sometimes...no. One time, my daughter broke her ankle in basketball
practice and they called my cell. Sorry, honey, I'm not not taking that call just because you may be behind me. I'd rather see a statement like:

Can't we all just cut each other a little slack? We have no idea what each other's days are like.

Thank you.

7. That's fine. But do we always have an issue like that?
Let's face it, most of the time it can wait.

14. Let's face it, when I'm in front of you and on my phone, it's an issue
like that. It disturbs me to see so much anger here. We don't walk in each other's shoes. Frankly, I am tired of all the rage.

16. Rage? No, not at all. It just upsets me when people
are weaving all over the road. And I'm sure that person understands that they can pull over and talk.

12. But how many calls are an emergency? Or even important...
The other day I followed an SUV for 10 miles with the driver yakking merrily on her cell phone as she's speeding up and slowing down and lurching all over the road. It happens all the time here because we have a one -one lane road into our community with no alternate route. Its very frustrating if you get stuck behind one of these morans. And for some reason, they always seem to be in the big SUV's and gravel truck sized pickups.

I will answer my cell but if its not important I tell them I'll call back. If the call requires a conversation, I pull over. But then I drive an smaller passenger car and feel the need to drive defensively.

15. Every time I talk and drive it's a reason as such. I cannot question
the actions of the driver in front of me on the phone. I've got bigger things to worry about. I'll just drive defensively. :hi:

18. All I know is that I'm sure most of the calls aren't important.
And hey, why not just pull over?

21. Because sometimes you cause more of a problem on the freeway
by doing that. Why look into people's cars is all I'm saying. It's not my life, my phone is for emergencies only...but I'm not going to judge the other guy. There is far too much more important to worry about. :hi:

10. Here's what I do...
If I see someone on the phone I usually lay on the horn and just keep honking. I figure that way whoever they are talking to thinks they are an idiot and don't know how to drive and talk at the same time so they cut the conversation short. :-)

19. When you're on the phone
no matter what the emergency, you have taken part of your attention away from the road. When you are driving, you need to be paying attention to what you're doing. Answering the phone, holding it up, finding the buttons, opening it up, that all distracts you from the road.

If it rings, they can leave a message. You can answer it later. If you're on a long road trip, you can pull over and answer, but driving around town generally you're only fifteen minutes from where you're going. Maybe longer.

If you're going to talk on the phone in the car, get a headset. At least then both hands can be on the wheel.

20. I hate it. This morning I'm driving along
ya know going with the flow..lady pulls up behind me in a Ford Explorer. About three inches off my bumper. I'm a tolerant person but WTF. Wha,huh, heh, what the f... I see it now the old hand to the ear thing. I could not shake her. Tried everything. I look back and she's laughing and clowning around. As soon as her call ended she backed off. What does that tell you?

I love what I refer to as the "cell stroll". That endless meandering back and forth while in conversation.
