43. Willie can write, but his voice is not great....
Have you heard his duet with Lucinda Williams, called 'Overtime'? It's a slow ballad, and not the kind of song that suits either of their voices...OY! This is the absolute worst duet I've heard. Both of them should let somebody else sing the ballads.

49. I must admit I enjoy his rendition of some songs,
and Stardust is one of them.

As for surreal, I can get into that. But the duet with Lucinda is far from surreal; it's just plain painful to hear.

26. That's my absolute favorite song of all time, btw
The song "Total Eclipse of the Heart" wasn't billed as a duet. The background singer, as far as I know, was just a session backup singer. The song was produced and written by Jim Steinman, of Meatloaf and Pandora's Box fame. He gave us Bat Out of Hell, my favorite Barbara Streisand song (Left in the Dark Again), and the only Celine Dion song I can listen for more than a few seconds without either falling asleep or becoming despondant over the future of music (All Coming Back to Me).

But hey, if you didn't like it, you didn't like it. I can relate. I hated Lord of the Rings, so I can understand differences of opinions.

...I've never seen the picture sleeve.

I tend to cut the late Wendy O a little slack, primarily because she was one of John Candy's "Gil Fisher - The Fishin' Musician" guests on SCTV. For that particular sketch, it was probably the best guest appearance.

67. Which brings to mind an old David Spade SNL joke...
This was when every third album being released was a "tribute" album, all of these cover versions of Neil Young and Springsteen and The Beatles and such.

David Spade was doing his weekly rant on SNL and asked:

"Do you know WHY the Beatles recorded all of those songs? So YOU WOULDN'T HAVE TO!"

That David Sanborn and Kenny G track is the most UNNECESSARY cover version in recent memory.
