6. How about a gift certificate for ...
a massage/facial/manicure

Tickets for a concert, musical, or local event.

A day spent doing all of her favorite things, even if you hate them.

A maid service arranged to come to her home for a one time cleaning to give her a break.

A picnic lunch at a nice park.
A gift basket collection of her favorite foods, snacks, etc.
A bottle of perfume
A watch, a locket
A book on her favorite subject or poems, etc.

If money is no object a round trip ticket to her favorite spot and hotel reservations.

A journal written by you telling her your favorite childhood memories and why she is such a good Mom.

I have a thousand other ideas that I wish I could use. My Mom died in '91 and I miss her a great deal.

I hope you have a terrific day with your Mom.

8. Thank for the great ideas!
I will store them in my mind for future reference. Several of those would be PERFECT.

I had planned on surprising her with an overnight shipment of boiled crabs. She absolutely loves boiled crabs but can't get them where she lives. None of my favorite places had crabs today and they don't expect any tomorrow. So that totally screwed me up.

I think she'll love those gardening gloves though.
