Recommend a DSL Provider
We've recently switched from cable to Dish Network and are shopping for a DSL connection.

What would you recommend? Any resources to check out? Things we should be aware of?

Thanks for any help.

2. Go with the Local Phone Company
rather than a reseller. In Washington that would probably be Qwest. All residential DSL companies use local telco facilities; all providers except the local phone company add an additional layer of network and systems.

No matter how inefficient you might think Qwest is, it's probably better than using a combination of Qwest plus some other company.

3. I like Earthlink. I really do.
I've never had a problem with them, they provide 100 MB of mailbox space per name, eight names on an account, and 20 hours of dialup free (so you have a backup if anything Does go out on DSL, but also if you want to install the software on a laptop and take it traveling, you've got time to use on the road.)

They've got SpamBlocking, ScamBlocking, and if you've got kiddies, Parental Controls as well.

If you sign up for a year, you'll get the $39.95 rate.

4. We have SBC Yahoo DSL
I've never had a problem with it, so I'd recommend it. I think you can get it for $19.95/month.
