Converse Are Now $45? WHAT THE HELL!
Okay, just a few months ago Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars were selling for $35 which already was pushing it for just canvas and rubber. And they aren't even Made in the USA anymore!

Now they're going for $45.

What's the deal?

They should be like $20 at most. At most.

Is nothing sacred anymore? Seriously.

6. Oh I know...
There used to be a little shoe store here in Chicago that had a huge stock of the original Chucks left in stock even after they started making them in China.

I bought as many as I could from them, but now they're out of business. The guy refused to ever order more Converse to sell in his store after he heard they were switching manufacturing over to China.

The bastards! *shakes fist at them*

9. The last time I bought Chucks...
And this was a few years ago, I bought them at Academy (sporting goods behemoth) for $25.

The low-tops were only $20!

No way I'm paying $40+ for the worlds least supportive shoe. No matter how good it looks.

17. NO SHIT?
I was not aware of that. When did that happen?

I stopped wearing 'em when they got above $20 (showing my age, yeah yeah yeah).

12. You're certainly the better man...
I will sadly probably buy a new pair even at this price and even against my better judgment.

Grr.

14. I still have my first pair
Jerry Buss purple, bought when I was preggers with my first who recently celebrated his 22nd b'day. OO-OOOOO Dey be FUNKY!!! Got 20 pairs made in the USA that I never paid more than 15 bucks for (Huntington Beach Outlet) in rotation. The demise of Converse is emblematic.

18. converse ations
I have never understood why they are so much, when they are made
in Vietnam and China

I used to work for Adidas travel dept, and they would go over there
many times a year, and look over their sweat shops, but their shoes are soooooooo expensive

It makes no cents
