A hopeful night

1) A close friend who was formerly liberal but intensely apolitical now strikes up conversations about the DowningStreet memo and what's she's been reading on one of her new favorite sites Truthout and how scary it is that the churches are getting so tied in with the GOP and the Sudan and..etc. I must catch my breath!

2) A friend of my friend who is a staunch Republican now admits she is becoming discouraged by where Bush is leading us..still probably wouldn't vote Democratic but it's a start.

1. Hope is a wonderful thing

But it is only hope. Considering you are in Texas, as am I, I would submit that these are good signs. Just be a friend to your friends, let them change on their own.

In otherwords... attraction, not promotion.

2. Just before the election...

there was a vast amount of anecdotal stuff like this.

It disn't seem to hold up back then, but I would hope that without the electoral frenzy, it just might be taking hold.
