Survivor's been on for EIGHT years???
who'da thunk it?? I have only watched it intermittently, so I didn;t think it had been on that long though :)

The fireman guy was kind of a "natural" for that kind of competition.

5. My sweet husband is so upset because he missed the final
episode. He didn't know it would be on tonight!

I'm angry because it's the only TV show he watches and... that's his special time!

I'm going to call CBS tomorrow and let them know that they have upset my husband.

I don't watch much TV, just C-Span and occasionally Discover or PBS, etc. I sometimes watch 60 minutes and he would have caught it only if I'd been watching tonight. :banghead:

Did everyone except us know the Finale would be tonight instead of Thursday?

7. CBS did it to upset people who watch Desperate Housewives
There was no "reason" to show it on Sunday instead of its regular time..

The networks wonder why they are losing viewers?? It's stuff like this that pisses people off..

I am not a Survivor fan, but I have missed things that I really wanted to see, because they switched the time or the day.. I LOVED NYPD Blue, and once they had a special show that was 2 hours, so I set the PVR to run 2 hours....from 9-11..(regular start time out here was 10)..

I am all set to watch it, and on THAT particular night, they started it at 8... I missed the whole first hour.. I thought..werll I'll catch it on re-runs... They NEVER reran it..

Towards the end of the NYPD run, I had all but lost interest in the show because of all the sneaky reruns, pre-emptions and non re-running of shows in sequence..

I sympathize with your hubby..:(

14. The finale has been on Sunday before
I don't know if they've always done it that way but I seem to remember this happening in the past.

6. I remember watching the first 2 seasons...
Haven't watched it in years, though; I can't believe it's been on as long as it has! Reality TV..

8. Another overrated "reality show"
I wonder how many quality television shows never made it on TV because this idiotic UNrealistic show keeps getting re-upped every year.

I just hate Nielsen families. I hate them, I hate them, I hate them.

9. Shows like Survivor, and the others are cheap to produce
and the voyeuristic public can "fantasize" that they too "could" be on a show like that, win money, and live happily after..

Good shows like American Dreams get cancelled because they succeed "too well".. A second-tier cast(cheap) is put into a classy show, they "shine" and all of a sudden, ask for more money, so naturally instead of giving it to them, the network cancels the show..Of course, with AD, I suspect that as the plot-line developed, the anti-war stuff and the civil rights issues would have become more front and center, and we all know how THAT would play these days.. They were probably happy to cancel it now, and spare thermselves the hassles

MOST of the things I watch(ed) end(ed) up cancelled. But there is always room for "fluffo"..

10. I wish somebody would put it out of our misery
I have never watched more than two minutes of the show, and I am sick of seeing ads about it. Plus when it came out, it was like on every news show and magazine and they were like "wow, this show is so huge" and I was like "wow, this show is so promoted".

11. The only reason I knew about it was that it was the LEAD on our local news
But it was a CBS station.. I wonder what the lead was on NBC??

There is so much "cross pollination" on TV... It irks me when hosts interview EACH OTHER about things that happen, instead of actually interviewing the people involved in the story....

and then we have the "news" that always seems to involve one of that network's "stars"...or shows.. (unless it's something BAD about a rival's stars or shows)

We have all achieved Truman status.. And I don't mean HARRY...

It's ALL a gigantic commercial....

12. well, I liked the Truman show
Imagine if someone was writing things for my life - like good jobs, good friends, girl-friends, and such. It beats the heck out of my reality - a tale told by an idiot, full of noise and confusion, signifying nothing.
