Poll question: How many of you have met someone else from DU? (edited for message)
Edited on Tue May-17-05 09:15 AM by kick-ass-bob
And had a real interaction with them? (face to face, phone, etc)

On edit:

I use this poll to show that, contrary to some's opinions, this is not just a message board, but a community. We are not all just words on a screen to each other, but many here have real relationships (including intimate ones) with others becuase of this website.

So yes, people will get upset when something happens to people they know and people they have met, and it is not silly or stupid that people react this way. Even if you have not met some in person, you can still get some sort of bond with them (like pen pals across the country) because they share part of themselves with you. Discounting this as "not real" is not accurate for everyone here. Maybe it is for you personally, but that is your choosing, not everyone's.

Thank you.

I only saw him that one time when Will Pitt came UNC and we ended up back at Short Bus's house.

We usually post a poll in the NC forum and vote on where to meetup.

I would also like to take a turn having you all over at my house.

26. I've met at least 100 other DU'ers
from all over the country. And that STILL does not affect who I will post to. I post to any thread in which I take interest and almost any thread where people are asking for support (at least those that I see) I reserve the right to disagree with anyone..including disagreeing with people who LOTS of other people disagree with. It isn't piling on to disagree with people on a discussion board.

39. That's one of the great things about living in San Francisco -
you get to play host to out-of-town friends.

I've met DUers - and yes, I post to their threads and exchange PMs with them. But I do that with people I haven't met, too.

It's fun to get a PM from DUers who are traveling to SF. Like most Bay Area DUers, I'm always happy to pass on a special little restaurant or neighborhood experience that let's you see SF as a native. :hi:

Cafe Marimba on Chestnut St. has a mole sampler plate (3 different moles) that's great. It's best to go an hour before peak or an hour after, otherwise you'll wait forever for your order to arrive.

It's sort of like a less expensive Guymas (Tiburon) without the view of the bay. :D

65. Not yet, but a female DUer is stalking me
Just kidding on the stalking part ;-) - supposedly, she's seen me twice in local stores, just hasn't said "hello" to me yet in person.

But, I have not met any yet. Not by choice, but there was a get together back in February I had to pass on because it was my daughter's 2nd birthday.

She posted a picture a couple of months ago and we met and picked up the cat, Sonia.

Thanks, Flaxbee!!!

75. Yes*
Yes, with an asterisk, 'cause my brother-in-law and ex-girlfriend are registered posters on here and I have met them! I've never met anyone from here that I didn't know before, though. So I don't know if that counts or not...
