Aquatic mammals of La Jolla. Warning! pic-heavy!
Edited on Thu May-19-05 07:57 PM by maveric
I went a shootin at the La Jolla Cove today.

And just think, a few years back some Fat-Cats in La Jolla complained that the sea lions were a nuisance and petitioned to have them rounded up and dragged out to sea(Duh! They'll only come back!). Some even wanted to have them euthanized. Sorry repug-pigs. Its the sea lions natural environment. The ocean! The seals won their day in court!

And I'll finish up with a surfer-dude!

1. I love La Jolla cove!
I've seen those sea lions several times. They're great!

I wish I lived out there sometimes. San Diego is a fantastic place.

4. They want their waterfront free of animals, their claim.
They dont realize that the seals are intellegent creatures who will return to where they are comfortable. Therewas a nasty court case and the seals, with the help of the Sierra Club, won!

6. I guess I just do not
understand. A waterfront without animals? I guess they need to build a gated waterfront. Poor things, those darned animals poop and make noise and have no respect for the amount of money it takes to keep ones own personal waterfront nice.

I would be honored to share a beach with the sea lions.

5. the natural predators of the seals have been killed off and they are
Edited on Thu May-19-05 08:05 PM by sam sarrha
devastating the fisheries in the PNW.. on sea lion that hung out in the locks nearly made a species of steal head Trout extinct.. he killed every steal head that migrated up the locks..didnt eat them just killed them.

where i come from they are more than a nuisance. you cant eat the oysters because they are FULL of seal shit... parts of the sound smells like a sewer from them shitting out the entire salmon run.

it is rare to even catch a salmon anymore up there in many places
