1. That used to be my job
but I have moved on to threadjacking. I even jacked one of my own today. LOL, so they have been dying on you today? Feels kinda funny when that happens.

maybe a midlife crisis, maybe just want to do SOMETHING to improve things: a liberal on "the job" might mellow things a teenie-weinie, & lib cops are rare here in the confederacy.

been antsy for some adventure, too.

why you have to rise early?

11. Another funeral.
Cousin this time.

Liberal cops are rare here too. Midlife crisis? Well I suppose it is better than buying a hummer.

Adventure, ahhh adventure. Cops get a lot of that I would imagine. It is a nice thought to improve things.

13. MR, sounds like you've had a funerial time, J I thought of being a cop
Serpico did it for me, back in the early 70's (?) but I came to realize quickly that I couldn't stand the politicing. It's been hard enough being a nurse and putting up with it all. Liberal cops are always scare and always needed. So are adventures, especially safe and sane ones (overall safe and sane that is)

MuseRider, been busy going to funerals recently? In the last yr I've been to a cousins, an aunts, a cousin's kid and a great aunts. 4 generations, 2 sides of the family. It's a bummer.

14. I quit nursing
partly because of the hospital politics, at least I would not have left as easily if it had not been for that.

I have spent the last 10 years burying all of my birth family, extended others and quite a few friends. It has been tough. Everyone gone before I hit 50. That is part of life though. I still have my husband and kids thank goodness and Bush** is not getting my boys.

Sorry, you have had a bunch of deaths this year. Wow, it gets really old, the grieving process does. You OK?

16. I'm ok, just pissed at times
My cousin and aunt were very dear to me and I miss them a lot. The night my cousin died I was going to call him and tell him I loved him but thought "he knows that and besides I'd just get his answering machine" so I didn't call. Turns out he was in the hosp dieing at the time which I didn't know for 2 days. Next am I get up and feel peaceful, can't be my normal uppity cynical self for some odd reason but decide what the heck, go with it. Next am the same routine which is puzzling. I found out later that day that he'd died. 3 days after he died the peaceful feeling went away and now I'm uppity again. Weird.

I don't believe in anything after you die. You're just dead. It was weird and is making me rethink this. Now I'm doing massage therapy which is great, still get to mess with bodies and help people feel better but little politics.

How are you doing? Having birth family/others die is tough. Why all before 50? That is pretty young. It does get old.

19. Lots of cancer and
one of my brothers had AIDS. Just the usual stuff. Thankfully my grandmother lived to be 90 but other than her the age for dying in my family is before 65. I am 51 and am shooting for the record!

I had a massage therapist that did more to help me after my brother died than anyone did. She really got me through it.

i was a narc for a while in the mid-70s. started as a city cop in '72. i'd wanted to be an english teacher, but after i got back from RVN i had responsibilities and jobs were hard to find. was maybe a little nuts, too.

safety & sanity never fit me well, but i was lucky and never got hurt much. politics did drive me to early retirement. spent my last seven years in DC during raygun era, then bush I.

was SO glad when clinton got elected; thought the country had regained it's sanity. i was wrong...

sorry you've had to see so much sadness w/ your family. not close to mine. ahven't seen a relative except my son in 25 years.

always felt death=death & it rarely affected me (some when my partner died, o/c) 'tonio, the cat in my sig, was named after him. i cried when tony the cat passed, about 3 years ago. still miss him every day.

17. very sorry about your cousin.
i avoid funerals. only been to two; honor guard for a retired captain, & when my partner capped himself in DC.

i did find me some adventure, yes i did. not bragging, but i always liked that stuff.

hummer=funny! def not my style, but i have been working on that damn alfa romeo for 4 years!

not much chance of fooling any of these klan-assed kop-shops into hiring me. age def a factor. still, if the neo-napolean keeps it up, we'll have a draft and my chances might improve. NOT hoping for that, but must be a realist.

so, horsies are getting tubbies this w'kend? i need to do doggies.

20. The only time
you will ever find me in a church is for weddings and funerals and a job here and there playing in a small orchestra. I hate funerals but feel like I should go when I am close to the one who died. I don't know why, I just feel like I should let them know I honor their memory. I don't know if I really believe that they know or not, still I go.

I have to sleep but you MUST tell me of your adventure.

You have an alfa? They are sweet.

PLEASE no draft, my boys my boys! Prime stock for the draft. I know you were not hoping for one.

Yup, horsie beauty school this weekend. They just hate it. Maybe I will take my dogs out and do them too. I have some really sweet smelling horse shampoo that would make my dogs a little less rank after they swim in the ponds and roll around in dead fish and goose poop.

22. g'night, muse
rest well.

i worry about your sons. if it comes to it, get them in the coast guard or air force (if you can't get them to canada, or better, holland!)

i was fooled into "patriotism" during viet nam; did my tour w/ the 1st cav as a rifleman.

there's no patriotic duty to be involved in foreign conquest. keep them safe!

23. Doing my best.
Thanks.

Somehow I must have missed that you are a vet. Damn, that was one tough time. I have several friends who are still very badly bothered by their tours. Went to Honduras with one of them and he got off the plane and totally freaked when they pointed their guns at us then again once we got into the jungle like areas.

I hope you are OK, I really do.

Hope you can sleep tonight. Sleep well and long if you can.

Sometimes I get to post and they don't die but tonight it seems I'm on a roll. Perhaps I just sum up too well. Perhaps I need to go back to the few word answers that make no sense but make me look trollish. hmmm, perhaps not.
