91 Y.O. Man (Selling Bootleg Booze) Holds Cops At Bay With Shotgun

A 91-year-old man waved a shotgun at Chicago Police this week from inside his South Side apartment after officers caught him selling bootleg liquor out of his kitchen window, police said.

Lawrence Brown held police at bay for about three hours early Wednesday after he refused to cooperate and come out of his apartment in the 1100 block of West 59th, a Police Department spokesman said.

"He was selling anything and everything,'' said Englewood District Lt. Dennis Walsh. "Beer, hard liquor. He was well-stocked with almost anything they can ask for.''

Brown was charged with aggravated assault and unlawful use of a weapon and is expected to appear in Bond Court today.
