The highways running out of Toronto were jammed on the way home. Seems like everybody in town was heading for the cottage. Fortunately, I was on a train looking at all the traffic as I passed them.

I can only imagine what a state Hwy 400 must have been in. And Highway 6 (a deathtrap at the best of times) must have been a mess, all the way up to Tobermory!

BTW, I think my neighbour has started the festivities early. I caught a distinct whiff of a certain herbal substance, when I went out to collect the newspaper this morning. (This is Vancouver Island, so I shouldn't be surprised, I guess ...) I wonder if he'll show up at the Oak Bay Victoria Day Parade, stoned to the gills?

with a fully loaded fridge of adult beverages, eats and smokes. I'm good for the whole weekend! Sitting out in the backyard, around the firepit, roasting some hotdogs. This is living. It better not fucking rain!
