Poll question: So, how many times have you seen "Revenge of the Sith" so far?
Saw it twice so far. Mrs. B and I saw it on digital projection last night. We had the best seats in the house. It was well worth the hour we waited in line.

1. I will not go to see it until the hype dies down
I do not like to sit through the commercials in the movie theatre.

2. Ugh, I know.
They actually show friggin' COMMERCIALS before the show now. You drop $8 a ticket to get away from that kind of crap.

5. Exactly
by the time Mr KW and I are done at the theatre between tickets and concessions, we have spent near $40. I REFUSE to pay to watch commercials at the theatre.

8. Ok, I may regret this, but
I'll be honest. I saw it yesterday and thought it wasn't very good. I was expecting a compelling story of how Anakin turned to the dark side and was pretty disappointed in the result.

Yoda, on the other hand, was damn cool but I just felt that the story wasn't anything like it could have been. Anyway, I'll duck my head now....

20. I enjoyed the film
but I'll admit, the transition from Anakin to Vader was somewhat weak.

A few spoilers for those who haven't seen it follow:

For example, after the emperor kills Windu, Anakin just kneels down and the emperor says, "you are now Darth Vader". WTF? He just basically pulls the name out of his ass.

Part of it may have been the terrible dialogue. The lines between Anakin and Padme were unbearable (both in this one and the last one).

Fortunately, for me atleast, the execution scene, and the final few in the film, made up for the bad dialogue and did a decent job tying the two trilogies together .

23. You hit the nail on the head
Those things are EXACTLY what I did and did not like about the film.

I kept saying that the scenes between Padme and Anakin were lame! I couldn't believe how bad the writing was. And yes, the transition to Vader was extremely weak. It was like they flipped a switch and BOOM - he was on the dark side. Sorry but I need more.

I did really enjoy Yoda kicking butt (especially how he knocked out the two guards at the door with just a shrug). Although I heard a comedian on the radio say something like, "If I saw Yoda jumping around kicking butt like he does and then walking with a cane later, I'd kick that cane out from under him and say 'What is this? Insurance fraud?'" That cracked me up! :)

25. SPOILER: I agree. I saw the movie this afternoon and had a mixed reaction.
The CG are amazing but often so over-the-top that they seem contrived as a deliberately staged tour-de-force. Gets in the way of the story.

Natalie Portman as Padme is just lame and always has been. That broad accent and shallow performance - it's like she'd rather be either at the mall or reading trashy romance novels (I admit I do like a GOOD romance novel, but most of them are trash). "All I want is your loooove" she croons. Barf.

The transition from Anakin to Vader is very weak and sudden. And after his murderous rage he is asking the emporeer whether Padme is safe - puleeez. And then he wails and then he settles down and that's it. Very, very weak.

Also the last scene where the babies are dropped off. Too fast, too perfunctory. And if they're hiding the babies, why send Luke to his relatives?

Yoda was great.

Overall, the movie left me feeling like there was "a disturbance in the force." Not entertained, really, disturbed. The writing and acting were uneven, and the story was shallow. The massive, constant, in-your-face CG effects seemed like a quintessentially American-style overdoing. Lavish, eye-catching and ultimately hollow.

18. Is the difference noticable
between the regular and digital versions?

I've seen it twice and the second time I saw it, the sound balance seemed off - way too loud, the bass was way too boomy and almost sounded distorted. It was really irritating.

The first time seemed ok, but I'm not sure if it was a digital screening or not.

27. I didn't notice a major difference.
I could be wrong, but the final duel between Obi-Wan and Anakin seemed a bit longer in places.

Kinda waiting for the heavy crowds to thin out so I can go to the local theatre (the one I used to work at) without having to worry about it selling out. I like the Star Wars movies but am not a major fan. I've seen each one of them once (well, except not this one yet).

22. Oh, now this brings back memories ...

This was the question of the late 70's and early 80's. How many times have you seen it ...

I ended up seeing the Star Wars: A New Hope 14 times originally, which was the limit of times I could talk people into taking me before it left the screen. I was 8 and so couldn't go on my own. I saw it several more times when it made another round through our town. I saw The Empire Strikes Back over 60 times. That was the first summer I was allowed to ride my bike out of the neighborhood, and I usually ended up downtown at an old-fashioned drug store with a soda fountain, after which I'd spend the next couple hours during the heat of the afternoon watching the movie. I did it all summer long and never got tired of it.

Ticket prices had increased dramatically by the time of the RotJ, I hate Ewoks, and I had also discovered girls by then, so I saw it a fewer times, but I can't remember how many exactly ... less than ten.

I've seen this movie once so far, but I've only had one opportunity. I'll see it at least once more, when the crowds aren't quite so heavy, so I can sit nearer the middle of the theater rather than the edge where I was today. I may see it a few more if the second viewing doesn't leave me with this deep melancholy that came with seeing it today and also if I don't have to take out a loan to do so.

24. twice.
I plan to go again two more times in the upcoming week. What? I really liked it and I haven't found a real job for the summer yet so I've got time! I saw Sin City 3 times in the theater, and Shaun of the Dead 4 times. I just like theaters...
