Thanks for your help DU! We got our Hollywood apartment!
We basically had to go up and watch "Lost" last week with manager (who in turn convinced the owner to give us the place over this other guy, but we did it). Not really. We were up there and she asked us to stay, so we did.

And the best part is, we won't have to take possession of it until our current lease is up! Yea!

it really depends on how much it has gentrified in the 10 years since I last lived in LA. That is where Silverlake was headed, yet friends of mine who moved into that area in the early 90s had their house badly burglarized, basically stripped, and ended up moving to other parts of LA.

Talk to others that live there now.
