my lady furdaughter had an accident yesterday and was at the vet early today. She fell off of the windowsill and the next thing I knew, she was draging her hind legs and her tail across the living room floor. I was horrified, thinking that she broke her back. The vet was unavailable until today and she took x-rays of Tootise's spine and pelvis, and fortunately, found nothing wrong. She probably has some swelling around her spinal cord from the fall, and is on steroids and pain meds right now. She will probably be OK in a few days, when the swelling subsides. OK, now I am going to go and have the nervous breakdown that I have been saving for just such an occasion! Damned cat! Luv ya, Toots!

right now, she is hiding under the kitchen snk in the cabinet (I had to help her in, because she still doesn't really want to use her hind legs), but she appears to be comfortable (especially with the butorphenol on board, that is strong stuff).:hi:
