my ex-wife and I honeymooned in the Canary Islands in a grand hotel that had fallen into disrepair. Meals were included -- the dining room featured a large and lavish display with many dishes. However, when you actually examined the buffet, at least half the dishes were eggs. Any lump covered with sauce turned out to be an egg. Anything in a covered container was an egg. They must have been economizing, but to this day I have never seen anything like it.

It was a wonderful time, but the kitchen was hopeless. They panicked when we ordered chateaubriand and had to bring it from another place. In any event, before you conclude that eggs suck, you might want to make to sample them in their infinite variety.
