Haxen are fucking awesome! But it would never be compared to a Maultasche or a ravioli because it is so different. A maultasche is the German equivalent of ravioli, seasoned meat and spinach wraped in a pasta sheet.

6. Did Schwabians invent ravioli?
As I understand it they have a legitimate claim. Many of the better restaurants in the area experiment with wonderful variations on the theme with fillings and sauces that range from pumpkin to truffle.

And also, try the Bavarian and Bohemian variations of schweinhaxe the next time you get a chance. There's nothing like Bohemian wildschweinhaxe in a rich dark rotweinsauce.
