Crazy man walks on the track in traffic during Formula One race in England
Edited on Mon Jul-21-03 03:36 AM by Wonk
(snip)

The man, wearing a kilt, was holding a sign and had placards attached to his body. He wandered onto the track during the 12th lap, and was walking toward a high-speed corner as six drivers sped past. The man was on the track for about 20 seconds before being tackled by a race steward and dragged away.

1. Didn't you read his placard??? He had a message for us.....
"Aghast onlookers had watched as, 12 laps into the race, the 56-year-old man, clad in a kilt and carrying a placard saying "Read The Bible: The Bible Is Always Right", climbed over a 10ft-high mesh protective fence and began running up the Hangar Straight against the direction of the competing cars."

Why sir, with such responsible, sane and informative behaviour, I am sure to follow up your suggestion with gusto!

P.

2. Bible bashing freak!
What a fucking nutter. I was there. The exit of Becketts is taken at about 130-140mph and as the cars shot past him they were accelerating towards a speed of 195mph.

The race was just unbelieveable without the psycho with a death wish.

Best race of the season and possibly of the past 5 years or so.

3. Wow! I'm jealous!!
The boyfriend and I watched it on tape last evening (don't have cable).

That WAS a great race! Formula 1 should have wackos popping up at each race, it would make things so much more exciting! (Kidding, of course)

Button got points and Villeneuve didn't---ha ha! :P

I just wish poor Minardi would get some points. :-(
