But I have a nasty bruise/welt on my leg.

I was parked in a lot that is under a bridge. A hunk of metal flew off and hit me on the leg. It must have dropped at least 100 feet. It felt like a whip or something. Hurt like the dickens. I'm just glad it didn't hit me on the head.

I've got a good one about a concussion I got when I was in a tornado when I was 2 years old. I'm pretty sure it's partially responsible for health problems I still have, 34 years later.

you can just by virtue of your narrow escape of death. Getting hit by Aurora Bridge debris is both freakishly rare and exceedingly dangerous.

That you didn't bleed (much) is a blessing, not a curse.
