Hey, I can see my navel again.
I've lost so much weight that my navel is now easily visible. Strange that I would find my navel novel. :D

The weight loss should be good for my diabetes and disc disease. Now I have to see about getting toned. Wish me luck.

2. Congrats Ladyhawk
Best of luck on toning.....

keeping weight off has been a problem for me since I stopped smoking. I think I'm "comfort eating" wayyyyyyy to much.

3. Way to go!
Losing weight is one of the best feelings. And hard to do, you should be proud of yourself.

11. Let's call it the "Post- Cervical- Double- Diskectomy- and- Fusion-
with-a-Titanium-Plate-and-Screws" diet. :D Sorry, I can't really recommend it. The side-effects are awful: pain, trouble swallowing, muscle spasms, splitting headaches, etc.

Post-surgery, I had trouble swallowing, so I plain just couldn't eat as much. I had to eat very slowly for weeks. Now I just don't eat as much as I used to. It really didn't take any discipline to attain...maybe some courage to face the surgical knife.

8. You go, girl!
Losing weight is tough, especially with diabetes.

But getting healthier and a brand new belly button means one thing: it's bikini time, Ladyhawk :)

Khash.

16. "Losing weight is tough, especially with diabetes."
I don't think I fully realized this until you said it, but it makes so much sense. If your blood glucose is high, there's plenty of glucose available to be turned into fat. I think weight gain caused my diabetes and the diabetes, in turn, caused weight gain.

"But getting healthier and a brand new belly button means one thing: it's bikini time, Ladyhawk :)"

LOL...I'm not ready for that yet. :D I wouldn't even wear one when I had a nice body. I thought I was fat when I was really quite shapely. Oh well, maybe if I get back down to a nice weight, I will appreciate it more this time. :)

10. Good for you, my dear Ladyhawk!
I can see mine as well....in the mirror, lol...I'm really happy for you, my dear. YOu have been through so damn much, it's high time for something truly good to happen to you!

The weight loss will indeed help your diabetes, and your disc disease as well...Congratulations!

Have fun getting toned!

14. Today I went snorkeling again. It's been a week since I snorkeled,
but I still think it's helping. I can feel a bit of tone in my muscles. :) I'm going to try to force myself to exercise more often, provided I'm not in a lot of pain. For me, it's easier to exercise in the high country where the climate and water are cool. I have trouble with overheating, especially in this infernal cervical collar! :)

I have two dreams:

1) I want to be able to run again...full sprint!
2) I want to go horseback riding again. It may have to be occasional, but I could never afford more than the occasional ride anyway. It would kill me if I tried it right now. :D

I miss my occasional horseback ride. It's been four or five years. I couldn't do it because of the disc issues.
