anybody here ever have an experience with christian international?
inspired by mykparts post: anyway, there is this big scary neon-lit church down the road from my house, the people that run this thing get their followers to live in trailer parks behind the church (visible from the road) and from what i have heard, they teach courses on spiritual divination, and other things not normally associated with christianity. i just checked their website - have a look: http://cimn.net/

here is an excerpt: "I was awakened this morning at 4:30 AM, unable to breath. Around 5 AM, the Lord told me to turn on the television and watch the news."

skin crawling yet? the lord tells this guy to turn on the television....ewwwkay.

1. I don't know what church he went to, but
I once knew a guy who told me the Lord had told him to buy a gun to be prepared for the end times! That Christian International sounds a lot like Jonestown. What was the name of that church?

5. as far as i know, it's just "christian international"
for some reason they are big in my area. i was working at a local tv station that had a police scanner (about a year ago) and this call came in that some young girl was having a fit at this place and was asking for her parents. i dunno, i didn't catch all of it, but it sounded very scary, and i never found out what happened. anyway, it sits on hwy 98, the main road through my county - nothing but miles and miles of pine trees (no street lights, probably the only part of coastal florida that isn't miami-ized) so if you drive over from the counties east or west of me, you go through about 20 miles of pine trees, and then you find this big neon church....wooooo..... and i live down the road from this place. they might be a moonie sect, i'm not sure, but they are apparently worldwide. i haven't met too many people that go to this place, and i'm sure as hell am not going to go (having been to snake handling fests at other churches) - from what i have heard, they are kinda 'jonestown' :o

where did you meet the guy that told you about the end of times? i am all ears on that one!

7. You will not be surprised when I tell you
that the guy who talked about the end times lived in a small town in East Texas!
