after my unforgivable faux pas...

Don't fuck with me, kiddo, I'm in no mood. It was cute, but no fuckin' cigar.

Khash.

6. Ah, Khash...
I know who my friends are as well...

And you are prominent among them....

I'm waiting for your PM, BTW....

A number of years ago, one of my nursing instructors summed up my relationship with others by saying: "People tend to notice you, and they tend to like you."

Emphasis on the word TEND....

 :loveya:

10. Indeed
I know a few of the issues but that's about it....certainly not enough IMO to end a ten year friendship. I'd had my own frustrations, though I'm sure we could have worked through things given the right circumstances. Right now I'm vacillating between depressed and relieved. On top of everything my vacation to Holland is off because of this mess (and the plane ticket is non-refundable). Oh well, really nothing to bemoan in the scheme of things.

12. Shit happens...and people become shits.
A day like today had me revisiting, with sadness, but mostly bitter resignation, how painful it was to be abandoned by all of my friends during my time of need in the fall/winter of '03/'04. That just...sucks. And in some ways, it's made me not want to make anymore friends, like, ever.

15. I'm not going to call him a shit
Because he's not. He's not perfect by any means, but neither am I. And who knows, after some time for everything to settle things may change. For right now though, I'll just get through things, whatever that takes.

11. Oh, I don't know...
I've found, over my 56 (and counting!) years in this vale of tears, that my true friends have been those who stood by me (and stood up for me) when everyone else thought I was either a) dangerously psycho, or b) dangerously subversive. It's really true that, until you've been through a shitstorm, you've no friends, only acquaintances.

Look around you, Khash... which of your cronies and colleagues are as covered with crap as you are? Which of them show all the signs of having taken a turd or two that was aimed at you?

Now go buy those worthy few a drink and dinner!

And be sure to keep a candle lit for each one.

20. Ain't that the truth.
It was three years ago this weekend that a person who thought was a friend stabbed me in the back. Fortunately, that person is out of my life.
