54. It takes a bit to get going

The dub isn't horrible in the ears bleeding sense. But its not just a dub. They are editing it as well. Already a scene where Naruto accidently kissed Sasuke got cut out and a lot of the wounds are missing. Get the subs if you can find them.

THis is one of those series where they get you hooked on the characters in a more carefree time and then set the hook and rip your heart out. It gets real gritty and tosses some interesting ideas around.

(I've never seen a place that didn't have kitchen cabinets as part of the deal.)

When my parents moved us from Montana to Arizona,
one of the main differences I noticed in the homes was that homes
in Arizona didn't have front room closets (or basements) - no need for

60. Okay, well, here's the short version then.

I did a cut and paste because when I finished my post and hit the "Post message" button, I got an error message. Don't have the energy to do the whole thing again, so I'll do an abbreviated version:

Wednesday, 10/12: Got into Vegas at 7:30 pm. Mostly hung out at our hotel/casino, Imperial Palace. Did a little gambling (I do machines, not table games unless my sisters are sitting on either side of me).

Thursday, 10/13: Went to a few other casinos, did some "clothing and shoe museum" window shopping. Thursday night we went to "Legends in Concert" at our hotel. It's an impersonation show, but the performers do their own singing. The "cast" included Shania Twain, Prince, Madonna, The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, and, of course, Elvis. The woman doing Aretha was incredible! She got the biggest applause of the show, though the others were very good also.

Friday, 10/14: More eye-candy at the designer shops, more gambling, people watching. That night, we saw "We Will Rock You" at Paris. OMG!! If you are a fan of Queen's music, and ever have a chance to see this, go! It's a musical based on the music of Queen. It originated in London, and is now playing in Spain and Australia. The Paris Hotel show is the American debut. The whole audience was singing, clapping (and stomping to "We Will Rock You"). One of the best shows I've ever seen. And the band that played in the show KICKED ASS!! I hope this show plays in other cities in the US, so Queen fans can see it. Fantastic!!!

Saturday, 10/15: IT'S BIRTHDAY DAY!!!! Mr. SG, in addition to the "We Will Rock You" and George Carlin show tickets, he got me a spa package which included a Swedish massage, body scrub, and European facial. I was sooooo the Birthday Queen! The woman who did the body scrub and facial, Gayla, used to live in Seattle. She and her husband owned a carpet/drapery cleaning business. After he died, she came to Vegas on a vacation with a friend, and had a spa treatment. She liked it so much, she decided she wanted to do that, so she sold the business, moved to Vegas, went to school, and has been doing this for 2 years. She was very good, and really fun to talk to. It was sad her husband died, but nice that she was able to go on with her life, start again, and be happy again.

Mr. SG made a dinner reservation for us at The Range Steakhouse at Harrah's, where I had the biggest butterfly prawns this side of Galveston! Yum! Then we went to see George Carlin. His opening act, can't remember his name, was so damned funny I had tear running down my face for his entire 30 minute gig. And George, of course, was great as usual. For fans, he has a new HBO live special on 11/5. The act we saw was essentially what will be on the special.

We got back to our hotel about 1:00 am. Mr. SG went to bed about 2:00 but I kept playing, and hit ONE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS on a quarter machine! And I am so bad at math that I thought I hit $250! I had a delayed reaction, and ended up staying up 'till 4:30 before I could go to sleep, with the help of several very strong drinks! I have never hit that much before! Yeah, it was techinically the day after my birthday, but since I had not gone to sleep, I felt it was still my birthday, and what a great present!

Sunday, 10/16: Took it a bit easy for much of the day, then went to Rio where I rode in the Masquerade in the Sky Parade. The floats are suspended from the ceiling, and you can buy a ticket to ride in one of them. It was a blast! Everybody gets a tambourine, and me and my float-mates (a woman and her two young sons) had a blast, playing tambourine, singing, and waving to the crowd!

Monday, 10/17: Went to Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, and New York New York. Our flight took off at 9:30 pm, and we were finally home at just after midnight, exhausted, but feeling great about the fun time we had!
